Diagnosis in a standing position.

While performing diagnosis, it is necessary to stand in front of the mirror with the legs closed, the upper part of the body should not be covered with any clothing. It would be ideal to stand only with pants. The mirror should be a big one – a person should be seen in full-length or from the head to his knees. If hair is long, it is necessary to tie it in order to see the neck. It is recommended that one more person would be present while performing diagnosis. We should observe in our image.

  1. level of shoulders -  which shoulder is higher or protruded or wider;
  2. lean of the head and the neck to any shoulder;
  3. which side of the chest is higher or prominent and to which side our body leans;
  4. which side of pelvic bones is higher or wider;
  5. which scapula is lower or protruded.
Diagnosing we observe that the neck leans to one side and the head to the opposite and this is the cause of headache or shoulder pain. Also, it could be the cause of high or low blood pressure, depending on to which side the neck leans. If it leans to the left, heart pain could be felt.  Pain and burning under the scapula, tachycardia, arrhythmia and numbness in the same side sometimes are confused with angina pectoris.  This happens because weight of the head does not distribute perpendicularly to the shoulder line which is deformed and this continuously increases a deformity degree.  The vertebral column is not an immobile rod; it finds a new support point on the opposite right side of the waist area. This is called compensatory scoliosis (the described example) that causes lumbago and radiculitis which result in the herniated disc. Along with this problem other ailments may occur such as pain in the pelvic area, menstrual disorders (amenorrhea and dysmenorrhea) and erection disorders.
